The WAPO Educational Trust felicitates successful HSLC and HSSLC students from the Western Angami region in Jotsoma.

DIMAPUR — The Educational Trust of the Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) organised a felicitation programme at the Jotsoma Village Council Hall on May 9 to honour meritorious students from the Western Angami region who excelled in the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examinations 2026 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE).
According to an update, the programme was attended by WAPO President Theyievilie Suohumvü as the special guest, alongside community leaders, parents, well-wishers, and members of the public.
During the programme, the Educational Trust reiterated its objectives of encouraging academic excellence and felicitating toppers from classes 10 and 12 under the NBSE, while ensuring that only bonafide members from the Western Angami region benefit from the initiative.
In his congratulatory message, Suohumvü stated that the achievements of the toppers had brought pride and honour not only to their families but also to the community and the entire Western Angami area. He added that recognising the hard work and dedication of the students would inspire younger generations to strive for excellence in education and life.

Delivering an exhortation on the theme, "Let the values of our forefathers come back to life", Kuolachalie Seyie urged the younger generation to remain rooted in traditional values, discipline, and responsibility despite living in an era driven by robots and artificial intelligence. He also pointed out the importance of managing time and the economy wisely to build a stronger and more responsible society.
The achievers honoured during the occasion included Nitsino Punyü, who secured Rank 3 in the HSSLC Arts stream with 95.60% from Mezhür Higher Secondary School, Kohima, and Neithozono K Kuotsu, who secured Rank 15 in the HSLC examination with 95.50% from Greenwood School, Dimapur.
