KOHIMA — The Poumai Naga Tsüdoumai Me, Kohima (PNTMK) organised a felicitation programme for successful candidates of the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) HSLC and HSSLC Examinations 2026 at Poumai Baptist Church Kohima (PBCK) on Saturday.
A total of 16 HSSLC and 10 HSLC achievers were felicitated during the programme.
Khae Lucky B Pao, HSSLC top 8 in the Commerce stream, speaking on behalf of the successful candidates, said the day was not just a celebration of results but a recognition of perseverance, discipline, sacrifices and the support system that carried them throughout the journey.
Sharing his journey, he said that he was not the brightest in his class but remained consistent and studied for about two hours daily, while during examinations he would study for about six to eight hours a day.
"There is no better feeling than to see your hardwork pay off," he said.
Addressing fellow students, Pao reminded that results are important but character, resilience and willingness to keep learning matter more in the long run.
Pao also said that education is not only about good marks or securing a career but about becoming a responsible individual who can serve the family, society and future generations with integrity and compassion.
Phoshu Kuolie Vizo, entrepreneur, in his address encouraged the students by saying that ranking does not matter but success in the future does and quoting from the Bible said that “where there is no vision, people perish.”
He impressed upon the students to have a clear vision and purpose for their studies, or else they will never reap the fruits.
He reiterated that a person who goes for further studies without any vision and goal is just wasting time and money.
Aside from civil services, Vizo stated that one should be employable by the time they finish their studies, be it corporate jobs or self-employed. He reminded that today is just a toddler step for a bigger dream, and therefore encouraged them to have a clear conscience and be determined.
K Runi Nakhro, associate professor and vice principal of State College of Teacher Education, Kohima, also deliberated that the true purpose of success is using it for God and humanity and so how to make use of this success is important.
She also urged the students to make God the centre of their lives and build their success on the aspect of Christianity.
She asked the students to understand themselves, which is the first step towards success, and also ask God for constant guidance.
Additionally, she encouraged the students to have good moral character, discipline and integrity, and reminded them to remain humble in success and use their success to serve others.
D Pulle, president of PNUK, in his words of encouragement shared that to become successful one needs to sacrifice and overcome many obstacles.
He also advised the students to set and follow a timetable for time management in order not to waste time.
During the programme, blessings for the successful candidates were led by Liba Hopeson, pastor of PBCK, and special songs were performed by Lerovine Rozhemai and Khaveine Veo.
