DIMAPUR — West Zone Women clinched the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy 2025 after defeating North Zone Women by 25 runs at the Nagaland Cricket Stadium on Friday night.


North Zone won the toss and opted to field first.


Batting under favourable conditions, West Zone posted a formidable total of 169/4 in 20 overs.


In response, North Zone suffered an early setback, losing their first wicket in the second over with just 19 runs on the board.


They continued to lose wickets at regular intervals and struggled to maintain momentum. Ultimately, they fell short, managing 144/4 in 20 overs, handing West Zone a comfortable 25-run victory.

Humaira Kaazi of West Zone was named Player of the Match, while her teammate Kiran Navgire received the Player of the Series award.


The prize distribution ceremony was graced by senior officials including Nababrata Bhattacharjee, Honorary President of Meghalaya Cricket Association; Khairul Jamal Majumdar, IPL Governing Body Member; Devajit Lon Saikia, Honorary Secretary of BCCI; Raghuram Bhatt, Honorary Treasurer of BCCI; Kechangulie Rio, President of Nagaland Cricket Association; and Tika Subba, President of Sikkim Cricket Association.


The first-ever IDFC First Bank Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy was successfully hosted by the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) under the aegis of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from November 4 to 14.


Meanwhile, the North East Zone Women’s team ended their campaign winless, losing all five matches and finishing at the bottom of the points table.
