DIMAPUR — North Zone outclassed North East Zone by a massive 126 runs in the Senior Women’s Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy at Nagaland Cricket Stadium, Sovima, on Wednesday. A dominant all-round performance saw North Zone post a huge total before dismantling their opponents with a disciplined bowling attack.
Batting first after winning the toss, North Zone piled up 204 for two in 20 overs. SM Singh led from the front with an unbeaten 87 off 58 balls, while Ayushi Soni provided strong support with 69 not out from 39 deliveries.
Earlier, T Sarkar’s quick 40 off 32 balls gave the innings early momentum. For North East Zone, D D Dutta was the only bowler to find success, finishing with 2 for 23 in four overs.

Chasing 205, North East Zone faltered against North Zone’s sharp bowling and were bundled out for 75 in 17.2 overs. Najmeen Khatun top-scored with 17 off 17 balls, but the rest of the lineup struggled to withstand the pressure.
Nazma starred with the ball for North Zone, claiming 4 for 9 in three overs. Amandeep Kaur (3 for 10) and Soni Yadav (2 for 6) also contributed to the demolition, ensuring a comprehensive victory.
SM Singh was named Player of the Match for her unbeaten 87, which set the tone for North Zone’s emphatic win.
