DIMAPUR — Chief Secretary of Nagaland, Dr. J Alam, inaugurated ‘Vision Nagaland Hall’ at the Administrative Training Institute (ATI) in Kohima on Thursday, marking the occasion with a plaque unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony.
In his address, the chief secretary congratulated the engineering team and the officials of ATI involved in the project for their commendable job despite budget constraints, a DIPR report stated.
Dr. Alam attributed the project's success to a shared vision and inter-departmental collaboration, setting a precedent for future initiatives.

He emphasised the need for a well-equipped hall, given ATI's role in hosting high-level government training programmes featuring national and international faculty and guests.
He also stressed that human resources are the state's most valuable asset, emphasising the importance of ongoing investment in training and capacity building.
Further, the chief secretary thanked the Finance and Planning departments for their prompt action and timely release of funds for the project, and assured that all necessary help and facilities will be provided to the ATI for undertaking similar renovations in the future.
Director of ATI and Secretary for Economics & Statistics, Akunu S Meyase, in her introductory speech, highlighted that the hall, which was first constructed in 2008-2009, underwent much needed renovations, in 2025 under the patronage of the chief secretary.
She emphasised ATI's commitment of being a centre of excellence through upgraded infrastructure, teaching faculty and capacity building training programmes.
Meyase also informed that ATI conducts training for head of offices of various government departments, training of Nagaland Civil Service (NCS) and Nagaland Secretariat Service (NSS) probationers and officers.
A brief technical report was presented by Executive Engineer of PWD (Housing), Akule Pusa, who disclosed that the project started on April 3, 2025 and was completed within three months at a cost of INR 40 lakh. The hall has a capacity of 80 to 100 seats.
Earlier, a dedicatory prayer was offered by Rev. Fr. CM Joseph, Parish Priest and Rector of Christ the King Church, Kohima village.
Officers of Finance, Planning, P&AR departments, representatives from NCSA, NPSA, NSSA, CANSSEA, NIDA, FONSESA, NF&ASA and resource persons, attended the programme.
