- DIMAPUR — Despite
challenges, the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan (VKSA) marathon campaign, led by
KVK Kohima (Tseminyu), entered the eight day with unwavering momentum.
- According to an update from KVK Kohima, the teams have so
far covered 71 villages in eight blocks with a total of 7751 (3945 male and
3806 female) farmers. The campaign is aimed at educating farmers and to equip
them with latest agricultural technologies practices for more production and
enhancing their income.

- The main objective of the campaign is “to reach the
unreached farmers” in two districts of Kohima and Tseminyu, gathering insights
on their challenges, indigenous knowledge, and feedback to inform
research-driven solutions.
- “This campaign involved grassroots level like direct
participation of farmers in the village and scientists, facilitating open
discussions about agricultural practices and technologies.

- The interactive session allowed the farmers to build
confidence on modem agricultural technologies and practices for sustainable
agriculture and boosting the crop production for family income,” it stated.
- Scientists and experts delivered lectures on scientific
poultry rearing, piggery, soil health, modem agricultural technologies and
practices for kharif crops, natural farming, soil and water conservation
measures, climate resilient technologies, composite fish culture, off-season
vegetable cultivation, vermi-composting, integrated farming system, resource
conservation technologies, animal health management and vaccination and also on
government schemes and subsidies.
- The teams comprised of officers from KVK Kohima, ICAR
Nagaland Centre, NRC on Mithun, CAU Jalukie, and state agriculture and allied
departments.
