DIMAPUR — The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has objected to the transfer of teachers from schools under the Sangtam jurisdiction without the appointment of relievers.
In a letter addressed to the principal director, Directorate of School Education, Nagaland, the USSC sought immediate intervention and necessary action.
It said that the student body stands firmly and resolutely against such unfair practices and that these actions pose a serious threat to the academic progress and overall development of the students.

It urged the authority to address this matter with urgency and ensure that no teacher is transferred without a proper replacement in place. It went on to state that the USSC shall not permit the issuance of any release orders concerning the teachers from the district.
Stating that should the department undertake any actions that contravene the position of the USSC, the conference reserves the right to initiate appropriate measures at its sole discretion in order to protect its rights and preserve the aspirations and welfare of its student communities, and the department shall bear full responsibility for any resulting consequences.
“We trust that you will consider this appeal on a priority basis and take the necessary steps to address our grievances. We firmly believe that your support is vital for the academic future of the Sangtam students,” it added.
The list of transfers highlighted by the USSC shows that a total of seven teachers from Kiphire and Tuensang districts have been moved without relievers. Of these, four are from Tuensang and three from Kiphire. The transfers involve both primary teachers and graduate teachers.
