Unity College of Teacher Education observes Vigilance Awareness Week by organising a programme on the theme “Our shared responsibility.”

DIMAPUR — Commemorating Vigilance Awareness Week, the Red Ribbon Club and Community Engagement Cell of Unity College of Teacher Education (UCTE), Dimapur, organised a programme on Friday on the theme “Our shared responsibility.”
An update from the college stated that the session began with a prayer said by Vinivi Achumi, 3rd semester student, which was followed by a welcome address delivered by the college’s principal, Dr. Akala Longkumer and song presentation by C Baumai and Thondinaro.
It stated that the resource person and deputy commissioner of police, Dimapur, Y Ruth Muru, spoke on vigilance, integrity and ethical values. She highlighted the crucial role of teachers in fostering integrity by nurturing students, who embody transparency, accountability, critical thinking, creativity, effective communication and self-awareness as responsible contributors to society.

It was followed by a pledge led by Tajenyula Longchar, 3rd semester student, reaffirming the commitment to uphold integrity and ethical values.
The event concluded with a word of gratitude delivered by assistant professor, Meliteu Chirhah.
