DIMAPUR — A five-day College Week of St. Joseph’s College (A), Jakhama, concluded on Friday with Vineikho Tetso, SDO (Civil) of Jakhama, as the special guest of the inaugural programme.
An update from the college stated that the special guest spoke on the importance of perseverance and pursuit of excellence. He shared inspiring quotes from Nelson Mandela, Steve Jobs and Theodore Roosevelt, encouraging the students to embrace challenges and to believe in themselves.
He also highlighted the importance of balancing academic, social life and personal well-being. Dwelling on the theme “Chase the Challenge,” he laid emphasis on overcoming fear of failure, maintaining physical and mental health and achieving balance in life. He also declared the college week opened.

As part of the college week, a cultural day was celebrated on October 30 featuring a series of cultural presentations and competitions including the Mister and Miss Josephite, Acapella and modern dance contests.
The event concluded with the crowning of Poupan Riamei and Vinika Kiba as Mister and Miss Josephite 2025.
The closing ceremony was organised at the basketball court on Friday, wherein various individual and group prizes were given away. It stated that Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics and Oklahoma Thunders were declared as the overall champions, first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
It further stated that the week-long celebration of sports and cultural events showcased the Josephites’ sportsmanship, teamwork and the pursuit of excellence.
