- DIMAPUR — The
United Sangtam Students' Conference (USSC), in a letter to the Director General
of Police, Nagaland, made an urgent call for a thorough investigation and a
detailed report regarding the death of Tsalichum Sangtam (12th Assam Rifles) at
AR Composite Hospital, Shokhovi.
- In the said letter, the USSC noted that Tsalichum, son of
Lt. Lichose Sangtam, was a member of the Sangtam community from Old Risethsi
village and added that the egregious act, occurring within a supposedly secure
military medical facility, is not merely a tragedy; it is an alarming
indictment of the security protocols and accountability mechanisms in place.

- The USSC demanded a comprehensive, impartial, transparent,
and immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding Tsalichum's
death. They specifically requested that no stone be left unturned. Every
possible angle, every witness, and every piece of forensic evidence must be
meticulously examined to ascertain the truth behind this heinous crime.
- The conference also demanded a comprehensive and detailed
report of the investigation's findings, including the sequence of events
leading to his death. This report must be submitted to the office of the USSC
within a reasonable and stipulated timeframe.
