United Colony Council, Ward 20, Dimapur resolves to bar local traders from associating with business unions.
DIMAPUR — The United Colony Council, Dimapur, has informed all residents, shopkeepers, business owners, landlords, and the general public that an emergency meeting was convened on August 31 by the council with shop owners and landlords of the colony.
During the meeting, it was unanimously agreed and resolved by all shopkeepers and business owners that they shall not associate with any business union, association, committee, or other business-related organisation within the colony.
According to an update, this resolution is in continuation of an earlier standing resolution of the United Colony Council and the resolution adopted at the colony general body meeting.

The council recognised that organisations are generally formed with good intentions, genuine purpose, and the objective of serving the community. However, it noted that the mushrooming of unions and associations in Nagaland has drawn significant public, business-community, and legislative criticism.
The house, therefore, found it necessary to adopt the resolution in the larger interests of the public and the business community.
The resolution shall remain in force until such time as it is permitted or amended by the appropriate competent authorities and through a resolution of the general body of the United Colony Council, Ward 20, Dimapur.
