UGN/NNC (PB) appoints Akaho Swu as new president

DIMAPUR — The United Government of Nagaland/Naga National Council (Parent Body) has appointed Vice President Akaho Swu as the new President.

In a press statement, it said that the central cabinets headed by Ato Kilonser Nupavi Achumi, comprising kilonsers, tatars, regional authorities, together with the military wing headed by C-in-C Lt. General Kirenkiu, after oath of allegiance, have endorsed the appointment of Swu as the new president, following the completion of the term of in-term President Kiutsangkiung, who had been appointed for one year (July 13 – August 20).

Further, the UGN/NNC (PB) has urged all citizens, officials, and stakeholders to continue their support and cooperation during this period of transition, as the government remains dedicated to advancing the wellbeing and prosperity of the nation.

The UGN/NNC (PB) also warned against individuals and groups that may attempt to create factions within the organisations using nefarious schemes in order to gain leadership control.

It was stated that the government strictly warned that any individual collecting tax or donations under its banner shall face stern action.
