The Tuensang Forest Division reviews the progress of the NFMP focusing on forest conservation and livelihoods.

DIMAPUR — The annual review meeting for the financial year 2025-26 under the Divisional Management Unit (DMU), Tuensang Forest Division, was held at the CBLT conference hall in Tuensang town on April 14 and 15.
According to a press release, the keynote address was delivered by Dr. Prabhat Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer and DMU Head of Tuensang.
In his address, he highlighted the inception of the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP) funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and elaborated on its functioning and overall progress in the division.
The session was followed by PowerPoint presentations from all three ranges, Tuensang, Longkhim, and Noklak, showcasing their respective activities and achievements.

A presentation was also delivered by Changmongsen Chang, team leader of the Foundation for Non-Governmental Organisations (LCS) Tuensang, highlighting the income-generating activities and livelihood initiatives undertaken for the self-help groups in all three ranges.
Short speeches were delivered by Kihomong, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) under the district administration in Tuensang, who reflected on the differences between past and present generations, particularly stressing the depletion of forest cover and its adverse impact on the environment.
Mongko Chollen, Sub-Divisional Officer (Agriculture), Tuensang, urged the need for stronger coordination between the departments of Agriculture and Forest, describing them as complementary sectors with shared objectives.
He further encouraged the FNGO team to enhance convergence with the Agriculture Department to facilitate the distribution of high-yielding seeds in NFMP/JICA villages under the Tuensang division.
