The Tuensang DPDB held its monthly meeting to discuss waste segregation, cybersecurity, and local society registrations.

DIMAPUR — The monthly meeting of the Tuensang District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) was held on Monday at the deputy commissioner’s conference hall.
The meeting was chaired by Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of the Tuensang DPDB, according to a DIPR report.
After reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the board discussed and recommended the registration of the Society of Leap of Faith Foundation and the Mt. Sinai Development Society Tuensang.
The chairman requested departments to segregate office waste and minimise the use of plastic.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Tuensang H Berimong informed the members that under the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026, household waste is divided into wet waste, dry waste, sanitary waste, and special care waste, which must be segregated at home before reaching the collection point.

Chingting, Executive Engineer (EE), Public Health Engineering department (PHED), highlighted the departmental activities on the Jal Jeevan Mission and the Swachh Bharat Mission implemented in the district through a PowerPoint presentation.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of District Executive Force (DEF) Tuensang Dr. Akash Sinha gave a detailed presentation on cyber safety and security. He informed the board about the rise of cybercrime in the district, including financial fraud and social media crime.
He stated that financial fraud includes Ponzi schemes, online exchange fraud, lottery schemes, cryptocurrency fraud, hacking, and digital arrests.
Social media crime includes cyberbullying, defamation, impersonation, cyber sexual harassment, fake news, the circulation of obscene material, sextortion, and cyber grooming.
During the meeting, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Saku Chingmak, DAO Alem Yanger, and DPO Land Resources Lipichem were introduced to the board.
