DIMAPUR — A new music video titled ‘Tring tring – Marks of war,’ performed by Azi Rudy, is now out on YouTube. The project is a heartfelt tribute to the late Lamtsala Sangtam, the iconic vocalist of Purple Fusion, whose voice and music left a lasting impact on Naga contemporary folk-rock.
Inspired by a Sangtam Naga folk tale, Tring tring draws its name from the calls of birds believed to echo through the forests after a warrior’s victorious return.
The music video visually interprets this folklore by reflecting on courage, identity, and cultural memory, while placing it in conversation with present-day realities.

Through striking imagery and symbolic storytelling, the video connects the past and the present, highlighting how ideas of honour and bravery have transformed over time, yet remain deeply rooted in Naga society.
The music video was directed by Macnivil, with video production by Nestvibe Studio. The song was recorded, mixed, and mastered at The Kitchen Studio, ensuring a sound that balances raw emotion with modern production quality. The project was shot with the support of RCEMPA Hall, Jotsoma, which served as the official venue partner.
‘Tring Tring – Marks’ of war stands as both a cultural expression and a tribute—honouring legacy, storytelling, and the evolving identity of Naga music in the modern era.
