DIMAPUR — The deputy commissioner of Kohima has issued a travel advisory restricting the movement of heavy vehicles on a section of National Highway 29 due to deteriorating road conditions and ongoing landslides.
According to an official notification, only six-wheeler goods carrier trucks will be permitted to ply along the affected stretch near the old KMC dumping site and the vicinity of the old toll tax gate (Welcome to Kohima Gate) until further notice.
The restriction has been enforced in the interest of public safety, following reports of continuous landslides and worsening road stability in the area. The advisory will remain in effect until the situation improves or further directives are issued, it said.
