- DIMAPUR — The
National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non Communicable Diseases
(NP-NCD), Phek, conducted training on population based NCD Screening (Portal)
on June 3 and 4 in two batches at the CMO conference hall, Phek, and CHC
Pfutsero, respectively.
- The resource persons were Dr. Alemwabang Aier (SPO NP-NCD)
and Thejakhrietuo Suokhrie (DEO NP-NCD) from DHFW Kohima, an update stated.

- In his presentation, Dr. Aier emphasised that the objective
of NPCDCS/NP-NCD is to promote health status through behavioural change. He
also highlighted on importance of awareness for communities, civil societies,
and faith-based organisations.
- Under NP-NCD, activities include population-based screening,
opportunistic screening, management of common NCDs, elderly care counselling,
physiotherapy, and health promotion through IEC for behavioural change
communication.

- The training was attended by medical officers, GNMs, CHOs,
ANMs, NCD counsellor and DPMU/BPMU staff from all the blocks. “Intensive
training on the NCD portal was imparted to streamline digital reporting and
improve quality of data,” it stated.
