DIMAPUR — The Dimapur police on Sunday announced closure of vehicular movement along the Chathe–Paglapahar–New Chümoukedima stretches of NH-29 following mudslides and landslides at multiple locations.

According to an advisory issued by the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, the route between Chathe Bridge and New Chümoukedima Bridge will remain closed until restoration work is completed.

As an alternative, vehicles travelling between Dimapur and Kohima have been asked to use two routes. The first is the Pimla–Mhainamtsi–Jharnapani/Medziphema stretch, which will remain open for light motor vehicles (LMVs) from 6 am to 6 pm.
