DIMAPUR — The Shamator town road improvement project and the Toshi Wungtung Memorial Clock Tower were inaugurated by S Keoshu Yimchunger, Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports and Chairman of the District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), at Shamator on April 7.
Speaking at the event, Keoshu stated that the blacktopping of the road was undertaken to benefit the citizens. He thanked the Shamator Town Public Forum, district administration, general public, and well-wishers for their contribution towards the project.
According to a DIPR report, he noted that the clock tower project, initiated by Toshi Wungtong, has been named after him as a tribute to his legacy to inspire future leaders.
He outlined plans to continue work on remaining roads, including stretches from the Toshi Wungtung Memorial Clock Tower to the public ground, Shotang traffic point to the veterinary office, and Shotang traffic point to St. Xavier road via the PHED ward road.

Yansomong, Vice President of the Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC), expressed satisfaction with the town's development progress since the district's formation. Neoji, Secretary of the Shamator Town Public Forum, acknowledged Keoshu's efforts, urging the installation of a clock in the tower to complete the project.
Podi Kapo, SDO (Civil), also praised the rapid development in Shamator.
