DIMAPUR — A toolkit distribution programme under the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Scheme, organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC), Peren, was held at the district headquarter, Peren, on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Peren, Hiazu Meru, handed over toolkits to 21 beneficiaries who had successfully completed a 7-day training programme at the Polytechnic Institute, Peren, a DIPR report stated.
In his address, the DC encouraged the beneficiaries to make proper use of the toolkits provided by the government, emphasising that the kits should not be neglected but used to improve their livelihoods.
Meru urged them to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training, return to their respective villages and towns, and spread awareness so that more people can benefit from the scheme.

Highlighting that the beneficiaries are the first batch of trained artisans under PM Vishwakarma in Peren district, he described them as ambassadors of the scheme and encouraged them to set an example through their work.
He also noted that entrepreneurs have a vital role in strengthening the district’s economy and called upon them to work skilfully and productively with the support of the toolkits.
Speaking on behalf of the entrepreneurs, Gailailung expressed gratitude to the Department of Industries & Commerce for providing the opportunity and support.
The programme was chaired by Functional Manager, DIC Peren, Namziulung, while the welcome address was delivered by General Manager, DIC Peren, Kughato Sema.
