The Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority has warned of thunderstorms, lightning and heavy rain across several districts till March 16.

DIMAPUR — Unstable weather conditions, including thunderstorms, lightning and intermittent rainfall, are likely to affect several districts of Nagaland from March 13 to the 16th, the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has warned.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the authority stated that several districts may experience localised thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall during the period.
Districts likely to be affected include Dimapur, Kohima, Wokha, Mokokchung, Longleng, Mon, Zunheboto, Tuensang, Peren, and Phek.
According to the NSDMA, isolated heavy rainfall may occur at a few locations, particularly in Longleng, Mokokchung and Wokha districts around March 13–14.

Intermittent light to moderate rainfall is also expected in districts such as Kohima, Mokokchung, Mon, Tuensang, Peren and Noklak during the same period.
Overall, the state is expected to witness scattered thunderstorms, lightning activity and intermittent rainfall, with localised heavy downpours in some areas.
The NSDMA urged residents to exercise caution and stay updated with weather advisories during the period.
It also requested all District Disaster Management Authorities and line departments to remain on high alert to safeguard lives and property.
For emergencies, it advised the public to contact the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) through the toll-free number 1070.
