LONGMISA — Throttle Thrust VII, organised by the Spearhead Motorsport Initiative (SMI), was flagged off at Longmisa village, Mokokchung, on Tuesday.
The two-day event has drawn rally drivers, motorsport enthusiasts, and spectators from across Nagaland and the Northeast, marking another step in the state’s developing motorsport culture.

In his welcome address, Tsubusang Pongen, president of SMI, thanked the Longmisa community for their support and hospitality. He stated that Throttle Thrust VII represents not only competition but also unity, passion, and responsible driving.
Merensosang, chairman of the Longmisa Village Council, welcomed all guests and participants and expressed pride that Longmisa was chosen as the venue for this year’s edition.

The special guest, Atsungba Walling, ADC Mokokchung, commended SMI for successfully organising the event and encouraged continued efforts to make motorsport a sustainable and safe recreational activity in Nagaland.
The ceremony concluded with the flag-off by the special guest. Participants demonstrated skilful vehicle handling through a tight 180-degree hairpin turn as villagers and visitors observed along the route.
The rally continues on November 5, with races scheduled to begin at 8 am, followed by a prize distribution ceremony in the afternoon.
