National Statistics Office conducts nationwide household surveys on debt, agriculture, and migration across Nagaland.
DIMAPUR — The National Statistics Office (NSO) under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation is conducting fieldwork for data collection of three major nationwide household surveys across Nagaland.
The exercise includes the All India Debt and Investment Survey, the Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural Households, and the Migration Survey. The surveys commenced in July 2026 and will continue up to June 2027, according to an update from PIB.
The All India Debt and Investment Survey aims to assess household-level financial conditions, credit access, and asset distribution to support policy formulation relating to financial inclusion, credit, and economic development.
The Situation Assessment Survey of Agricultural Households is designed to assess the livelihood conditions of agricultural households to formulate improved planning and policies for rural development.

Meanwhile, the Migration Survey examines population mobility and labour movement to provide inputs for planning in sectors such as employment, housing, transportation, social security, skill development, and urban planning.
The Regional Office of the National Statistics Office (Field Operations Division) in Kohima acknowledged district administrations, ward councillors, urban local bodies, village councils, local authorities, and the public of Pfutsero, Sangsomong, Dzulhami, Kiphire, AK Industrial, Phiro, Dimapur, Hozhukhe, Asukiqa, Gareiphe Basa, Pungro, and Changtongya for their cooperation during surveys conducted in August 2026.
