KOHIMA — A new team of the Thenyizu Village Council for the 2026-31 tenure was installed during an installation programme held at the Panchayat Hall in Thenyizu village under the Phek district on Thursday.
According to an update, during the programme, the declaration of the new leaders was made by Theyehuyi Dawhuo, Secretary of the Nomination Committee, and Vesekho Thisa, Secretary of the PVC.
The oath for the new leadership was administered by Vepozoyi Theyo, Head Gaon Bura (GB), while Zasehu Theyo, the oldest male citizen of the village, pronounced the prayer for the new team and the village.

The new team of Thenyizu Village will be led by Zhothiyi Dawhuo as Village Council Chairman (VCC); Zacusa Thisa as VDB Secretary; Vevo Resu as Village Council Secretary; and Vezovo Swuro as Common Treasurer.
Village sub-committee chairmen include Nesazo Theyo for the Power/Electricity Committee; Verhayi Swuro for the Village Education Committee (VEC)/School Managing Committee; Veseta Swuro for the Health Committee; Cűkhuduyi Dawhuo for the WATSAN Committee; Kethoswű Dawhuo for JCB and Council Vehicle; and Vethikho Ngoi for Ration/Ration Distribution.
The update stated that the programme was held in the presence of clan chairmen, the president of the Thenyimi Youth Social Welfare Organisation (TYSWO), Thenyizumi Students’ Union (TSU), Thenyizumi Women Society (TWS), church leaders, and elders of the village.
