- DIMAPUR — In a vibrant display of faith, tradition, and
community spirit, Mary Help of Christians Church in Mezoma village held a
special programme ‘Thekra Peli,’ a mass
participation in field work, on Saturday, marking the countdown to its golden
jubilee celebration, scheduled for December 28.
- According to an update from the organisers, the event began
early in the morning, with church members, including men, women and children
dressed in traditional attire, assembling at the village before marching in
procession to the paddy fields.

- The march, accompanied by hymns and prayer, symbolised unity
and service, as participants assisted catechists and other field owners in
agricultural work, a practice rooted in the community’s Christian and cultural
values.
- The programme officially commenced at Kharuju–Ketsagei where
Keneisetuo Anthony led the opening, followed by Bible reading and a prayer by
Ngulierieno Lucy.

- Upon arrival at the paddy fields, Kenuneiü Catherine led a
prayer for blessings, and later Neingusieno Mary prayed over the shared meal
following the fieldwork.
- A short message was delivered by Neithovilie Neri. The event
concluded with a closing prayer by Vilalieü Veronica.
