DIMAPUR — A thanksgiving Holy Eucharist was celebrated at St. Peter’s Parish (SPP), Kiphire, on Sunday for Rev. Sr. Shanglila Agnes, a newly professed nun.


According to an update, Rev. Fr. Philip Magh, parish priest, was the chief celebrant and was joined in concelebration by Rev. Frs. Jacob Pallotine, Thomas Toretkiu, Marius Patton, and Mathew Nini.


Speaking on the occasion, In his homily, Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu reflected on the life of Rev. Sr. Shanglila Agnes in light of Luke 18:1–6, which speaks about persistence in prayer.


Fr. Toretkiu emphasised the importance of prayer, describing it as a roadmap to the divine and a powerful tool for navigating life’s journey. He said that Rev. Sr. Agnes’s decision to dedicate her life to God as a nun was not a coincidence but a purposeful choice rooted in her deep relationship with the Lord through prayer.

Naga National Prayer Day 2025 held at Camp Hebron


A short felicitation programme followed, compered by Joyce Sudila. The Catholic Youth Association of the parish presented a song, and the Holy Childhood made a special appearance.


Thomas Kiumusu, church secretary, delivered words of appreciation, followed by expressions of gratitude from Rev. Sr. Shanglila Agnes. Speaking on behalf of the family, David Tsasemong extended his remarks before the cake-cutting ceremony.
