Telongjem FC and Chargers FC advanced to the MDFA Trophy 2025 semifinals in Mokokchung with dominant wins over their opponents.

MOKOKCHUNG — Telongjem FC defeated Sports Society Soyim (SSS) 4-0, while Chargers FC thrashed Thunderbolt FC 7-0 to advance to the semifinals of the ongoing MDFA Trophy 2025 at Imkongmeren Sports Complex, Mokokchung, on Tuesday.
In the third quarterfinal, Telongjem FC dominated from the start, with Tarepnungsang opening the scoring in the 5th minute. Thejasetuo B Gwirie extended the lead in the 34th minute, giving Telongjem a 2-0 advantage at halftime.
After the break, Telongjem maintained full control as Tarepnungsang scored his second goal in the 49th minute, followed by Vitoho Kiho, who sealed the victory in the 60th minute. Despite SSS’s efforts, they were unable to make a breakthrough and exited the competition after a one-sided contest.

In the fourth quarterfinal, Chargers FC routed Thunderbolt FC 7-0 in a lopsided match. Takotuba opened the scoring in the 5th minute, followed by Longkhai, who netted twice in the 11th and 24th minutes, giving the Chargers a 3-0 lead at halftime. Yangersosang added another in the 31st minute, further extending the lead.
In the second half, Longkhai completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute, Osen scored in the 71st, and Tongpangnokdang rounded off the scoring in the 75th minute, ensuring Thunderbolt’s elimination from the tournament.
With Super Seniors and Doyang Strikers already qualified for the semifinals, Chargers FC will face Telongjem FC on October 22 at 1 pm.
