Teachers’ professional development app launched in Mokokchung

MOKOKCHUNG — In a significant leap toward transforming and innovating education into digit learning, a teachers’ app, designed to boost professional development for primary teachers specialising in Mathematics and Science was launched at Sangtemla Community Hall, Mokokchung on Tuesday.


Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Ajit Kumar Verma, launched the app at an event organised by the Bharti Airtel Foundation in collaboration with the district Education department.


 In his address, the DC confidence that the app will transform schools by fostering engagement among teachers, students, and parents. Verma also commended the Bharti Airtel Foundation for its visionary efforts over the past 25 years in training teachers and enhancing their skills to create inclusive, effective learning environments.


He encouraged all 80 participating teachers to seize this opportunity, assuring full support from the district administration to ensure the programme’s success across Mokokchung.

Hammed gave an introduction to the Bharti Airtel Foundation, detailing its collaboration with the Department of School Education, Nagaland (DSEN) through TheTeacherApp.


This teachers’ professional development programme aims to strengthen teaching in Mathematics and Science by focusing on pedagogical skills, innovative classroom practices, and engaging learning environments.


The app offers high-quality, user-friendly content covering language, leadership, pedagogy, co-scholastic areas, social sciences, and more, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP).

The programme features a blend of self-paced online courses and interactive webinars, with research-backed, field-tested content tailored for practical classroom application.


Teachers will participate in a phased approach, earning a joint DSEN-Bharti Airtel Foundation certificate upon successful completion.


The initiative will equip educators with innovative strategies, practical resources, and NEP-aligned methods, with a long-term vision to scale state-wide for consistent teacher empowerment and improved student outcomes.


The Bharti Airtel Foundation, established in 2000 as the philanthropic arm of Bharti Enterprises, has impacted over 6 million lives through initiatives like Satya Bharti Schools, quality support programmes in Government Schools, and higher education scholarships.


TheTeacherApp extends this commitment by promoting innovation and excellence in education, particularly for underserved communities, a Bharti Airtel Foundation official stated.


District Education Officer Sentinenla urged teachers to register on the app and complete the training despite their busy schedules, stressing its importance in enhancing student learning outcomes across the district.
