
Participants engaged in the painting competition
organised by the District TB Centre Kohima.
- KOHIMA — A painting competition on
tuberculosis (TB) awareness was held on Saturday at council hall, AG Colony,
Kohima, organised by the District TB Centre Kohima, with 22 students
participating in the competition.
- On the occasion, Moa Imchen, proprietor of Imchen's Custom
Art School, Kohima, informed that there were three categories in the
competition: primary, junior, and senior.
- Dr. Chiben Kithan, District TB Officer, Kohima, said that
the main purpose of conducting the competition was to educate the students
about TB and also to disseminate information about TB to their families and
friends back home.
- Sharing briefly about TB, he explained how the Government of
India is working to eradicate TB from the country and highlighted the various
activities and awareness programmes being conducted across the country, as well
as in the state.

- He expressed that eradicating TB is not only the
responsibility of medical doctors and nurses but a collective effort. He also
highlighted the symptoms of TB and emphasised that early diagnosis and
treatment are the best approach. He appealed to the students to return home and
disseminate the information.
