DIMAPUR — The State Task Force on vector-borne and other communicable diseases, with special focus on Japanese Encephalitis (JE), held a meeting in Kohima on Wednesday at the conference hall of the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Nagaland Civil Secretariat.
According to a press release, the meeting was held under the chairmanship of Anoop Khinchi, commissioner and secretary.
Senior officials from the Department of Health and Family Welfare and representatives from line departments like Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Public Health Engineering, Rural Development, School Education, Agriculture, Social Welfare, and Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, as well as the PHQ/SP office and partner organisations, attended the meeting.

The State Programme Officer, National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDCP), Dr. Imkongtemsu Longchar, presented the epidemiological trend and preparedness measures undertaken. The meeting reviewed the current status of malaria, dengue, JE, and other communicable diseases in Nagaland.
Officials discussed strengthening surveillance, intensifying vector control activities, and rolling out awareness campaigns across districts.
The chairperson stressed inter-departmental coordination with Urban Development, Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), Rural Development, School Education, Agriculture, Veterinary, and Public Health Engineering for effective prevention.
