KOHIMA — The State Level Youth Festival was held at the Indira Gandhi Stadium (IGS) in Kohima on Thursday, with Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports S Keoshu Yimkhiung as the special guest of the closing programme.

Addressing the valedictory event, the advisor congratulated the participants of the State Level Youth Festival and stated that the occasion witnessed the energy, creativity, and unity of the young people in action.

Keoshu stated that the festival has been more than a celebration as it has been a reaffirmation of the power of youth in shaping society and the future.

Highlighting on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat @2047,’ he said it carries a vision of India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation by the centenary of its independence.

He asserted that the dream of a Viksit Bharat cannot be realised without the active contribution of the youth. The advisor also expressed his belief that Nagaland’s young generation is well prepared to be part of this transformation.

“The creator economy has emerged as a powerful force globally. It is not limited; it embraces art, culture, music, entertainment, digital media entrepreneurship, literature, sports, technology, and innovation,” he said.

Keoshu added that through digital platforms, young creators have the opportunity to tell their stories, showcase the rich Naga traditions, and innovate solutions that can inspire not just the state, but the entire nation and beyond.

He said the creator economy offers livelihood opportunities, empowers individuals to become entrepreneurs, and nurtures originality and talent. It thrives on creativity, authenticity, and connectivity—values that resonate deeply with our youth. If harnessed with the right guidance and support, it can be a major driver of employment, cultural preservation, and national progress.

The advisor also called upon the participants to commit themselves to building a Nagaland and a Bharat that are progressive, inclusive, and forward-looking.

Furthermore, Keoshu acknowledged the participants and encouraged the youth to believe in themselves, dream big, and never underestimate the power of their ideas and creativity to change the world.

The programme was led by Megolhu Dolie, Additional Director, YRS, and a thanksgiving prayer was offered by Khrieneiu Metha, Pastor of Pienniel Christian Revival Church, Kohima.
