and trainees at the state-level training on the NSS 80th round health survey in
Kohima on Wednesday.
- KOHIMA — The Department of Economics and
Statistics (DES), Nagaland, held a one-day state-level training programme on
the National Sample Survey (NSS) 80th round "Household Social Consumption
on Health" on Wednesday at the DES conference hall in Kohima.
- According to a press release, the NSS 80th round is a survey
on household consumption on health, with the objective of generating basic
quantitative information on the health sector.
- The survey will cover important aspects of the health
sector, such as pre-natal and post-natal care, the assessment of populations
affected by widespread communicable diseases, immunisation of children aged
between 0 and 5 years, and the condition of the 60-plus population, including
their state of health, economic independence, and degree of isolation.
- Director Neidilhou Keditsu, delivering the welcome address,
provided an overview of the survey and highlighted the use of the computer-assisted
personal interview (CAPI) module for data collection, which is being used for
the first time in the state.

- He urged the enumerators to collect data from actual sources
to ensure quality and reliable data for effective policy planning in the health
sector.
- Akunu S Meyase, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland,
Economics and Statistics, in her speech, stressed the importance of quality
statistical data, which are used by various agencies in action plans.
- She encouraged the enumerators to put in their best efforts
during data collection and urged all participants to master the CAPI module and
take an active part in the survey.
- Technical sessions were conducted by Athuo Kaihru, SSO, NSO,
Kohima; Raj Kumar Mallik, Survey Supervisor, NSO, Kohima; Kiutan Simon, ESO;
and Ngabu Tep, Sr. IOS.
