State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute held a five-day training on SREP of ATMA 2026–2030 in Medziphema.

DIMAPUR — The State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) organised a five-day training programme on “Re-visiting Strategic Research and Extension Plan (SREP) of ATMA (2026–2030)” from September 22 to the 26th at Medziphema.
According to a press release, Sanuzo Nienu, director of agriculture and SNO (ATMA) Nagaland, Kohima, attended the inaugural programme, while Bodevi Shuya, director SAMETI and principal IETC, Medziphema, delivered the keynote address.
Resource persons included Dr. Rajumoni Bordoloi, director, Extension Education Institute (EEI) NE-Region, Khanapara, Guwahati, and Dr. Sajib Barua, faculty, EEI Khanapara, Guwahati, along with representatives from the School of Agricultural Science (SAS), Nagaland University.

They covered topics such as the methodology of SREP, work plans, participatory rural appraisal, ongoing developmental activities and existing farming systems, different farming situations, policy considerations in agriculture and allied sectors, extension strategies and activity schedules, strategies for human resource development, research strategies, marketing, and strategies for post-harvest technology.
Participants also undertook a field visit to Ruzaphema village, where a participatory rural appraisal (PRA) exercise was carried out.
During the valedictory programme, participants shared feedback on the training, and certificates were distributed. Altogether, 46 participants attended the programme.
