DIMAPUR — St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Wokha, celebrated its parish feast day alongside the diamond jubilee on Sunday at the parish church, attended by Rev. Fr. AD Jose, SDB, former parish priest, who was the main celebrant of the Holy Mass.

In his welcome address, Rev. Fr. CJ Sebastian, the present parish priest, reflected on the life of St. Paul, the patron saint of the church, and reminded the faithful that a jubilee is a sacred time to reflect on the past and renew one’s spiritual commitment for the future, according to an update.

He emphasised that it symbolises spiritual renewal, liberation, and forgiveness, a call to return to a life of harmony and faith.

Delivering the sermon, Rev. Fr. Jose urged the congregation to remember and honour the sacrifices made by the pioneers of the church. He prayed that God may help everyone grow as true disciples and cherish the gift of life.

Reflecting on the 60-year journey of the parish, he congratulated and expressed gratitude to the founding members for laying a strong spiritual foundation, despite the many challenges and hardships they faced.

Fr. Jose highlighted the early struggles faced by the pioneers in embracing Catholicism, emphasising the significance of their perseverance and unwavering faith. He expressed joy and gratitude that God had granted the grace to witness and partake in such a historic and sacred occasion.
