St. Joseph University and Eagle Crest conduct a pre-placement talk on the aviation, hospitality, and tourism sectors for students in Chümoukedima.

DIMAPUR — The Placement Cell of St. Joseph University (SJU), in collaboration with Eagle Crest, organised a pre-placement presentation talk on “Aviation, hospitality and tourism sector” at the university premises, Ikishe Model Village, Chümoukedima, on February 9.
According to an update, the welcome note was delivered by Dr. VT Vasagan, Dean of Social Sciences and Management. He highlighted the importance of such pre-placement talks in preparing students for competitive career opportunities and motivating them to explore diverse professional sectors.
The session featured two resource persons from Eagle Crest. Juniper Phom, Hospitality and Cruise admin and training head, introduced their organisation and provided an overview of its role in training and placement within the hospitality and tourism sector.

She explained the scope of employment, professional roles, required qualifications, and essential soft skills needed to succeed in the sector. She also motivated students to enhance communication skills and professional attitude.
Asheli Yepthomi, an aviation trainer, delivered a presentation on the aviation industry. She discussed various job roles available in aviation, such as cabin crew, ground staff, customer service, and airport management.
She highlighted grooming standards, personality development, communication skills, and discipline as key requirements for entering the aviation sector.
