DIMAPUR — St. John School (SJS) in Kiusam town under Kiphire district organised a science exhibition for the first time in the history of the school on Friday.
An update from the school stated that Rev. Rangthong, pastor of Kiusam Town Baptist Church (KTBC), inaugurated the exhibition in the presence of public leaders, parents and invited guests.
Delivering the introductory note, the school’s principal, Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu stated that a science exhibition gives an opportunity to perform a fantastic learning experience. He stated that students gain a deeper understanding in various scientific concepts in physics, chemistry, biology and many others science and also learn critical thinking and problem-solving by performing.

“Children do learn and assimilate far better when they gather data and do their experimentation. The important of science exhibition build their ability of communication skills and public speaking. In science exhibition they learn team work, creativity thinking, time management and benefit many areas in life-skill-base,” Rev. Toretkiu said.
The programme began with a welcome song and prayer, followed by inspection of the exhibition, where the students explained their models. It stated that students from LKG to class 6 participated in the exhibition.
Meanwhile, the exhibition master and teacher Felix has thanked Fr. Thomas, teacher David, teaching faculty, students and children for their hard-work. He further thanked the public leaders, parents and invited guests for their active participation and encouragement to the children.
