Samagra Shiksha Nagaland and Dream a Dream concluded Phase 2 of Social Emotional Learning training in Kohima.

DIMAPUR — The Directorate of School Education and Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland, in collaboration with Dream a Dream, a non-profit organisation, concluded a four-day Phase 2 training of the State Resource Group (SRG) on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) at the State Council of Educational Research and Training office in Kohima.
According to an update, the initiative was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen more inclusive and supportive school systems across the state.
The four-day experiential programme, held recently, brought together 33 trainers from the Educational Block Resource Centre and two District Institute of Education and Training lecturers, who will lead the next phase of teacher capacity-building. Building on earlier training, this phase focused on deepening educators’ understanding of SEL and preparing them to support implementation at scale.
Facilitated by Dream a Dream, the sessions focused on self-awareness, empathy, and classroom practices that enable emotionally safe and engaging learning environments. Participants engaged in reflective and practice-based exercises to strengthen their ability to respond to students’ emotional and developmental needs.
The trained SRG members will now support SEL implementation across 176 pilot schools and contribute to upcoming teacher training programmes in Nagaland, expanding the state’s efforts to integrate SEL into everyday teaching and learning.
