A free health and cancer screening camp was conducted in Kigwema, benefiting over 200 registered patients.

DIMAPUR — A multispecialty-cum-cancer screening camp was conducted at Kigwema village in Kohima on June 28.
With 227 registrations, the camp provided a total of 459 free consultations across various specialities, including obstetrics, gynaecology, ophthalmology, general medicine, surgery, dentistry, blood tests, ultrasonography, and minor procedures.
According to an update, this included 164 free cancer screenings for oral and cervical cancer, alongside the distribution of free medicines.
The camp was organised by the Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, a registered public charitable trust, in collaboration with the National Oral Health Programme, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, with support from the Biocon Foundation, Bengaluru, and Putuonuo Hospital, Kohima.

The programme, conducted at Kigwema Government Middle School, began with a welcome address by site coordinator Nutsovolu, followed by the introduction of the medical team by founding trustee of the Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, Dr. Kezevituo Keditsu.
A talk on oral health and cancer awareness was delivered by the dental surgeon at District Hospital Peren, Dr. Aneizo Khruomo.
A total of 35 medical personnel, including eight doctors and 22 paramedics from Putuonuo Hospital, Naga Hospital Authority Kohima, Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, and private hospitals and clinics, along with five social workers from the Dr. K & T Keditsu Foundation, participated in the camp.
