DIMAPUR — The Spear Corps of the Indian Army celebrated its 41st Raising Day at the Rangapahar Military Station (RMS) in Dimapur on February 4, marking over four decades of distinguished service, valour and unwavering commitment to the nation and people of the North East.
The celebrations commenced with a wreath-laying ceremony to honour the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. Army personnel along with civil dignitaries paid homage to the fallen heroes whose courage and devotion continue to inspire generations of soldiers, a defence release stated.
As part of the Raising Day observances, a series of community-oriented activities were organised, including a medical camp for the families, screening for children, an organ donation pledge programme and a blood donation camp at the Military Hospital, Dimapur.
HQ Spear Corps was raised on February 4, 1985, and has been entrusted with the security responsibility across the states of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh including the international border with three countries viz. China, Myanmar and Bangladesh.

Addressing the soldiers, Lieutenant General Abhijit S Pendharkar, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, General Officer Commanding of Spear Corps, lauded all ranks for their exceptional professionalism, operational excellence and steadfast commitment to duty.
He highlighted the Corps’ vital role in safeguarding national security, maintaining peace and stability in the region, and extending unwavering support to civil authorities during times of need.
The GOC also urged all ranks to uphold the highest traditions of the Indian Army and continue to serve the nation with honour, integrity and selfless devotion.
