Spark Boys of Amahator Village retained their title at the 3rd Zisaji Presidency College Open Volleyball Championship in Kiphire on Friday after defeating United Fables Club.

KIPHIRE — The 3rd ZPC Open Volleyball Championship concluded on Friday with Spark Boys of Amahator Village reclaiming the title, continuing the winning streak they have maintained since the tournament began in 2023.
Ten volleyball clubs participated in this year’s championship, drawing strong spectator turnout throughout the event. In the final match, Spark Boys defeated United Fables Club of Kiphire town in a closely contested game.
Tournament convenor Ingauringle Putlang said the championship was organised to create a platform for young people to identify their abilities, learn from one another, and foster unity through sports.

Spark Boys coach, Joseph Sangtam, said sports play a crucial role in strengthening friendships and opening new opportunities for young athletes, much like education.
Principal of Zisaji Presidency College, Dr. Pyobenthung, underscored the importance of physical and mental well-being and said sports contribute significantly to both. He thanked the BJP Unit Kiphire for sponsoring the event and acknowledged the support extended by various individuals and organisations.
The championship was first held in 2023 with the objective of helping the youth of Kiphire enhance their sporting skills and support their overall development.
