Nagaland Cross Country Championship to be held on December 18
DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Athletics Association (NAA) on Friday conducted the 5th edition of the Nagaland 10K – The Great Hornbill Run 2025 at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence (RCSR), Sovima, Chümoukedima, with 126 athletes participating across various categories.
Supported by the department of Tourism, the run drew competitors from multiple states, reflecting the growing interest in distance running during the Hornbill Festival season, according to an update from the NAA.
Addressing the event, Neingulie Nakhro, Treasurer of the NAA, congratulated all runners and thanked partners, volunteers and supporters. The association reiterated its commitment to strengthening athletics and nurturing young talent in Nagaland.

The update stated that the event continues to be one of the major sporting highlights of the Hornbill season, promoting fitness, discipline, and community participation.
The association also announced that the Nagaland Cross Country Championship will take place on December 18, with registration open to bona fide citizens of the state. Interested participants may register through the Association’s official website or social media platforms.
Results (Men)
Kamal Kumar of Uttar Pradesh claimed first place with a timing of 32:51.7, followed by Nitish Kumar of Uttar Pradesh (33:01.4). Nagaland’s Kengimlungheing Keditsu finished third with 34:34.7. Vishal Yadav of Uttar Pradesh placed fourth (34:52.5), while Tsole Yokha of Nagaland secured fifth (35:00.5).
Other top finishers included Shiangjiu T (Nagaland), Phonyei Konyak (Nagaland), Son Eongti (Assam), Pradip Mahanta (West Bengal) and Changsang Wongto S Chang (Nagaland).
Results (Women)
Anamika Devi of Uttar Pradesh topped the women’s category with a time of 39:10.0, followed by Anjali Pratidar of Madhya Pradesh (39:30.3). Nagaland’s Tsuchoi T secured third place (39:50.4).
Nisha Kumari Shaw (West Bengal), Sangmir Teronpi (Assam), Songmo P (Nagaland), Niansai T (Nagaland), Chongsop P (Nagaland), Jemie Y (Nagaland) and Rutseinuo (Nagaland) completed the top ten.
