SMBHS, Mt. Carmel, and Regimental School clinch top honours as Wokha hosts the third interschool Sepaktakraw tournament.

WOKHA — The third Interschool Wokha District Sepaktakraw Tournament, organised by Wokha District Sepaktakraw Association (WDSA-Sepak), concluded on Wednesday at public ground, Wokha, with SMBHS, Mt. Carmel School, and Regimental School Wokha taking top honours in various categories.
In the senior boys’ category, SMBHS clinched the championship title while Mt. Carmel School finished runner-up. Mt. Carmel, however, dominated the senior girls’ division, defeating Cistus School to lift the title.
Regimental School Wokha showcased strong performances in the junior categories, winning both the under-14 boys’ and girls’ events, while Mt. Sinai School and GMS Sector D finished runners-up respectively.

GMS Sector D also bagged the Best Discipline Award for their overall conduct during the tournament.
Dr. Thungdemo Kyong, chief of Team Metamorphosis and honorary member of WDSA-Sepak, graced the closing ceremony as guest of honour. He congratulated the winners and lauded WDSA-Sepak for promoting Sepaktakraw at the grassroots level, encouraging young players to pursue sports alongside academics.
WDSA president Yanrenthung Humtsoe commended the organisers and participants for their enthusiasm, reaffirming the association’s commitment to developing sports in the district.
