SJC NCC cadets receive best cadet awards, NCC Welfare Society Scholarship

DIMAPUR — A total of twelve NCC cadets including 7 girls and 5 boys of St. Joseph’s College (Autonomous), Jakhama, received awards at the felicitation ceremony of NCC cadets by Nand Kishore Yadav, Governor of Nagaland, at Lok Bhavan in Kohima on April 16.
An update from the college stated that two cadets namely Thushila Yimchunger and Tsakhumba TY Sangtam were conferred the best cadet (senior wing) award and best cadet (senior division) award-2025 of NCC Group-Kohima (state level) respectively. It added that five cadets namely Muluvie-o Koza, D Shine Bibiana, Chonggunhoi Chongloi, Megongusie Zinyu and Vimegotso Zinyu were conferred NCC cadets’ Welfare Society Scholarship-2025 by Brig. Shantanu P Mainkar, Group Commander, NCC Group-Kohima.
Besides, five cadets namely Jirhe Ngouri, Grace R Mozhui, Hojila H, Perampenthuibo and Vizosieto Kere received a certificate of appreciation from the governor for successfully scaling Mt. Saramati, the highest peak of Nagaland.

It mentioned that the awards (best cadet award and NCC CWS Scholarship-2025) were declared earlier through an official letter from NCC Directorate North East Region on March 17. The best cadet award carries cash of INR 4,500 and the NCC CWS Scholarship with an amount of INR 6,000.
Meanwhile, the management and staff of the college have expressed pride on their achievement. It also expressed gratitude to all the officers of the organisation especially to Brig. Shantanu P Mainkar, Group Commander of NCC Group-Kohima; Col. Lovelesh Panghal, CO of 1 NL BN NCC, Kohima; and Lt. Col. Prachetan Gahatraj, CO of 24 NL BN NCC, Chümoukedima, for giving recognition to the cadets.
