Shokiye seminar room inaugurated at North East Christian University on Friday.

DIMAPUR — North East Christian University (NECU) has inaugurated the Shokiye seminar room on Friday.
An update from the university stated that the dedicatory prayer was said by Rev. Dr. ZK Rochill, senior pastor of Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC), and the programme was chaired by Dr. Kangzangding Thou, director (Academics). Short speeches were delivered by Prof. Dr. Darlando T Khathing, Pro-Chancellor, NECU; Huzo Meru, Director of Operations, NECU; and Rev. Dr. ZK Rochill.
The seminar room was named after Late Shokiye Kibami, who was the first physiotherapist from Nagaland. It was funded and furnished by Khehuli Kibami in the memory of her late father.

Speeches on behalf of Shokiye Kibami family were delivered by Akheli Sema, Khehuli Kibami and Samuel Sema, wife, daughter and son respectively of Late Kibami. In their speeches, the family members recounted the life of Late Kibami and shared accounts of his contribution to the society and even towards the church ministry. According to them, his values of perseverance, benevolence and compassion and his commitment to the Lord enabled him to be a gentle care-giver and in the process healed many.
The choir of Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC) and Coloured Keys presented songs on the occasion. The programme was attended by the wife of Shokiye Kibami, children and grand children, well wishers and members of the Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church (DSBC).
The vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Chibenthung Yanthan, faculty of International Relations (IR) Programme, and concluded with a benediction said by Rev. Dr. Narola Inchen, Director of Centre for Advanced and Religious Studies (CARS) at NECU.
