Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie assures steps to finalise service rules and expedite Dobashi recruitment in Kohima.

KOHIMA — Commissioner of Nagaland Gregory Thejawelie on Friday assured that the issue of Dobashis and other staff appointments would be taken up with the concerned departments to ensure that service rules are brought out, stating that “then we can go ahead with all this recruitment.”
The commissioner stated this during his reception programme organised by office of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima.
Thejawelie was also the deputy commissioner of Kohima during Jan-Feb 2019, July 2019 to Oct. 2020, and Jan. 2021 to June 2022.
Replying to one of the issues raised by a member of Dobashi in his speech, Thejawelie said that he is aware of the issue and they have not been able to take it up as expected.

“There are certain issues like service rule which are under preparation and for which some time is taken. But I assure you that we are already aware of that and we will take up with the concerned departments to ensure that service rules are brought out and then we can go ahead with all this recruitment,” he said.
He expressed that he understands the DBs do not have sufficient staff and manpower, stating that it has been a long time since recruitment has taken place.
“So I hope we'll be able to speed up and I assure you that we will try to get these things in place and we hope for the recruitment”, he stated.
He also applauded the present DC stating that there is a visible progress is there in the office, and hopes that the commissioner’s office will continue to perform well, and contribute their best service in whatever way they can, and discharge their responsibilities.
Henok Buchem, deputy commissioner of Kohima, reminded that the Kohima DC office, which started in 1879, and time has come to start planning for the 150 years anniversary in 2029.
He also mentioned that the key items the administration will continue to work on is enhancing the infrastructure, upskill the manpower, and e-governance to switch to digital based apps.
Short speeches were also delivered by Alemyapang Longchar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Chiephobozou, on behalf of outpost administrative officers; K Rakalung, UDA, on behalf of ministerial staffs; and Visakholie Nisa, DB-I, on behalf of Dobashis. They shared their grievances and demands to the commissioner.
Following the reception programme, Thejawelie also inaugurated the advanced furnishing of DC Office Kohima, re-dedicated to public service.
