NLA Speaker Sharingain Longkumer inaugurates advanced teaching aids and IT equipment at Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung.

MOKOKCHUNG — Nagaland Legislative Assembly Speaker Sharingain Longkumer inaugurated advanced teaching aids and IT equipment at Fazl Ali College (FAC) in Mokokchung on Wednesday, provided under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).
The initiative was implemented by the district administration in Mokokchung. The project aims to bolster the college’s teaching and learning infrastructure by introducing modern educational technology.
It includes the installation of 15 all-in-one PCs, 10 interactive smart boards, 10 public address lectern systems, and UPS units with four batteries.
Addressing the gathering, Longkumer described corporate social responsibility as an essential component of corporate operations in India. He commended BPCL for its support of educational institutions through such meaningful interventions and extended gratitude to BPCL and other public sector undertakings for their contributions to community development beyond their core business activities.
Highlighting the relevance of the newly inaugurated facilities, Longkumer noted that educational institutions urgently require such tools in the current digital era.

He stated that the project aligns with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and encouraged Nagaland to play an active role in achieving this goal, pointing out that only 21 years remain to realise the ambitious target.

Addressing employment realities in the state, Longkumer noted that government jobs are limited and cannot remain the sole aspiration for youth. He pointed out that Nagaland has one of the highest proportions of government employees relative to its population and encouraged students to explore opportunities in the private sector and beyond.
He stated that India has become a participatory and contributory nation, asserting that Nagaland’s progress would depend on the aspirations and contributions of its people rather than a culture of blame.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Mokokchung Ajit Kumar Verma thanked BPCL for its prompt response to the district administration’s request for educational infrastructure support. He stated that the true value of the equipment lies in its effective utilisation.
Manager (Sales) for Nagaland and Manipur at BPCL, Abishek Paul, stated that the teaching aids and IT equipment were provided to strengthen the teaching-learning process and promote digital literacy.
Principal Dr. I Wati Imchen expressed gratitude to BPCL for the generous support and to Speaker Sharingain Longkumer for inaugurating the facilities.
