DIMAPUR — The first one-day free chess coaching camp was organised by Shamator District Chess Association on the theme “Sharpening minds, rising together” on September 13 at Government Middle School (GMS) A, Shamator.
According to a press release issued by DIPR, the camp aimed at developing chess skills, thinking and sportsmanship among the participants.
Bodi Kapfo, SDO (Civil), and Kudazo Swuro, EAC Shamator, urged the children to approach chess not merely as a pastime but as a discipline that parallels life’s challenges. They also encouraged the participants to foster memory and strategic thinking skills.
Altogether, 40 students took part in the event. Five coaches and trainers conducted the sessions, namely, Bodi Kapfo, Kudazo Swuro, Throngho L Naik, Yanluba NP and Viqheqhe NP.
