NSF Martyrs’ Trophy: Mez & Co, Sadar Hills register big victories

Mez and Co defeated Kohima Bible College 17–0, while Sadar Hills FA beat Wolves 13–0 in the 25th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima.

KOHIMA — Mez & Co and Sadar Hills FA registered dominant victories at the ongoing 25th edition of the NSF Martyrs' Memorial Trophy held at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, on Monday.


In the first match of the day and the second match of the tournament, Mez & Co thrashed Kohima Bible College (KBC) 17–0. Thokchom Adison Singh netted eight goals, becoming the highest scorer so far in a single match of the tournament.


He was named ‘man of the match’ and received the award from Sedeneikho Shosahie, former vice president of the Angami Students’ Union.

Jangjagen Kuki added four goals for Mez & Co in the 26th, 30th, 36th and 74th minutes, while Menguzelie Rutsa scored twice in the 33rd and 42nd minutes. Haokhohen scored in the 45th minute, L Thangkholen Khonsal in the 29th minute, and Yitachuthipetor in the 85th minute.


In the second match, Sadar Hills FA defeated Wolves 13–0. Lengouthang and Ngamchinlen scored hat-tricks each, with Lengouthang receiving the ‘man of the match’ award.


The other goals came from Obed, Longougin, Gary, Lamgunmang, Lonkhungam, Lalneo and Lunminthang.
