visit to Government High School, Seyochung Village, on Thursday.
- DIMAPUR — The
Seyochung Village Students' Union (SVSU) visited Government High School (GHS),
Seyochung Village, as part of their regular school monitoring programme to
observe the school's development, assess progress, and interact with the school
authorities and staff.
- According to an update, during the visit, both the teaching
and non-teaching staff shared several concerns with the union.
- It was mentioned that the school currently has no toilet or
urinal facilities for the students and staff. There is also no water supply,
which makes daily functioning very difficult. Additionally, the school has no
staff quarters, which is a major problem for teachers who come from outside the
village.

- Longtili C Sangtam, president of the SVSU, assured the
school authorities that the union would take up these issues with the concerned
departments and try to find a solution at the earliest. He said the union is
committed to improving the educational environment in the village.
- The president also thanked the district education officer
(DEO), Kiphire, and the Department of School Education for recently appointing
an assistant headmaster at the school. He said this has brought some
improvement to the administration of the school.
- However, the union also appealed to the department to
urgently post a science teacher at the school, as the subject is currently
being left out due to the lack of a qualified teacher.
- The president further informed that the students' union has
been visiting the school every month to work together with the school staff and
management for better functioning and to provide support wherever possible.
