- DIMAPUR — The
Government Primary School (GPS) in Lengnyu village under Noklak district, which
was established in 1963, has been upgraded to Government Middle School (GMS) on
Thursday.
- Speaking at the upgrade programme, MLA and chairman of
Noklak DPDB, Benei M Lamthiu, emphasised the importance of maintaining a strong
relationship with the government to ensure better development in the region. He
acknowledged the dedication of teachers who continue to render their service
despite various challenges.
- Lamthiu extended his appreciation to the advisor of School
Education, Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, and Chief Minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, for
fulfilling the long-standing need for the school's upgradation.

- Earlier, Lamthiu unveiled the monolith.
- Also speaking on the occasion, the deputy commissioner (DC)
of Noklak, Arikumba, has sought coordination between government and the
community for smooth functioning of the school. He appealed to introduce
vocational trainings and skill development programmes among the school students
for wider learning.
- The DC also stressed on conducting parent-teacher
interacting for better understanding of their children's all round development.
He further advised to inculcate a sense of belongingness by taking proper care
of the government property.
- The EAC of Panso, Bangjunglemba, encouraged students to be
disciplined, respectful and competitive. He praised the school management board
for their leadership and urged stronger collaboration with parents and the
community.
- He also emphasised on improving education quality and
increasing enrollment in government schools.
